Two-day first aid and disaster management camp concluded

Participants from across the country received life saving training

A two-day first aid and disaster management camp was organized at the local Red Cross Bhawan under the joint aegis of the Indian Red Cross Society and District Home Guard Burhanpur.

About 52 students, representatives of social organizations and common citizens from 12 states of the country participated in the camp. The participants were given practical and theoretical information about the necessary life saving techniques in emergency situations.

Master trainer and project chairman of first aid Dr. Manoj Agarwal trained the participants in techniques like CPR, stopping bleeding, first care in case of unconsciousness, first aid and rescue. He said that "knowledge of life saving measures not only makes the youth self-reliant, but they can also be ready to help others."

At the same time, Jitendra Singh Tomar of the SDRF team gave practical information about rescue measures in case of fire, use of fire fighting equipment and working without panicking during a disaster under disaster management.

District Commandant of District Home Guard Mrs. Meenakshi Chauhan, Red Cross President Ravindra Gupta, Principal of Kadriya School, Puja Nagda, Secretary Manohar Devke etc. also addressed the camp and said that learning first aid and disaster management is an essential undertaking of life.

During the camp, children and citizens participated with great enthusiasm and asked many questions to the experts out of curiosity. After the training, all the participants were also given certificates. The organizers say that such training camps are an important step towards strengthening disaster awareness and preparedness in the society. On this occasion, members like Parvez Khan Bahadur, Ataullah Khan, Rajesh Bhagat, Manish Bhatt, Uma Kapoor, Shri Gandhi etc. were present.
