Nalanda District Administration Issues Guidelines to Protect Citizens from Cold Wave (Sheetlahar)

According to the instructions of Shri Kundan Kumar, District Office Bearer, Nalanda, District Disaster Management Branch, Nalanda has issued a departmental guideline to protect the common people from Sheetlahar across the district.

According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, cold and extreme cold outbreak continues in Nalanda district. Continuous drops in low temperature and severe fog is affecting common lives. In this perspective, as per the instructions of Disaster Management Department Bihar Government, District Administration, Nalanda has issued necessary guidelines for safety of citizens.

The district administration said that the elderly, young children, sick persons and homeless people need special precautions during the cold wave.

  • Necessary guidelines issued for prevention from Sheetlahar:
  • Citizens are appealed to wear hot enough layered clothes, hats, mufflers, gloves and socks.
  • Avoid unnecessarily going out of the house during extreme cold times, especially in the morning and night.
  • Use heater in airy places only and avoid burning fire in closed rooms.
  • Use fog lights when driving due to thick fog, drive slow and follow traffic rules.
  • Contact the nearest health center immediately in case of more cold, vibrating, numbness, confusion or unwellness.
  • The district administration has arranged for burning and distribution of blankets among helpless needy people at Ran Baseron, Bus Stand Railway Station and crowded places. Needy persons should be encouraged to take advantage of these facilities.

The public is requested to trust the official information issued by the Meteorological Department and the District Administration.
The district administration has instructed all concerned departments to stay vigilant and work with coordination to deal with the coldwave. Common citizens are appealed to follow the guidelines issued by the administration and help each other.
