Social organizations will run public awareness campaign against drug addiction

Universal Peace and Social Development Society will run awareness campaign by taking along various social organizations and citizens against the rapidly increasing drug addiction among the youth. Along with this, Indore's manifesto against drug addiction will be prepared by organizing a workshop and will be submitted to the state government.

 

Universal Peace and Social Development Society organized a meeting of the intellectuals of the city in Abhay Prashal. In which the speakers expressed concern about the rapidly increasing drug addiction among the youth of the city. The speakers said that the citizens and intellectuals of the city will go to various schools, colleges and settlements and make people aware of the fatal consequences of drug addiction. By organizing separate meetings of various religious leaders, advocates, doctors, teachers and social workers, initiatives will be taken towards thinking and solution regarding prevention and treatment of drug addiction. Youth will also be made aware to save them from drug addiction. Principal of Social Work College, Dr. Matthew CP said that the lecturers, professors and students of Social Work College will fully cooperate in all the efforts against drug addiction. Gandhian thinker and Maharaja Ranjit Singh College professor Dr Pushpendra Dubey said that drug addiction is increasing rapidly among students of various colleges of Indore, to stop which everyone will have to think seriously otherwise the young generation is rapidly moving towards degradation. National President of Bank Officers Union Alok Khare said that collective and organized efforts are needed against drug addiction. Parents do not have equal supervision over the youth coming from outside for coaching in Indore. Due to which they easily fall prey to drug dealers. Therefore, social organizations and workers should think seriously about this and decide their role in saving the youth.

Trustee of Development Foundation Shyam Pandey said that work will be done to create awareness against drug addiction among school college students through painting, street plays, speeches, essay competitions etc. Social worker Pranita Dixit said that women should pay attention to suspicious people in their colonies and settlements and also pay attention to the activities of the youth around them and if there is any doubt, try to stop it strictly. So that the growth of drug addiction can be stopped at the very beginning. Social worker Dilip Kanade also expressed his views in the meeting. The program was conducted by Shafi Sheikh.
