CLOSING CEREMONY OF 73RD ALL INDIA POLICE ATHLETICS CLUSTER CHAMPIONSHIP

The 73rd All India Police Athletics Cluster Championship (Athletics & Cycling)-2024-2025 came to conclusion today with grand Closing Ceremony at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium marking a successful and competitive culmination of the prestigious event. Hosted by Delhi Police, this year’s championship witnessed the participation of over 38 teams from various state/UT police departments & CAPFs from across the country, competing in a wide array of track and field events.

 

                  The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries. Sh. Tapan Kumar Deka, Director/Intelligence Bureau was the Chief Guest. Ms. Meerabai Chanu was the Guest of Honor, who acknowledged the remarkable spirit, discipline, and sportsmanship displayed by the participants throughout the event. Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Senior Officers were also present at the event. The final day witnessed exhilarating performances, with several athletes breaking personal records and achieving new milestones in their respective events.

 

                  In line with the tradition of the event, a special Barakhana (community feast) was organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for all participants, officials, and guests to foster camaraderie and celebrate the successful conclusion of the championship and for providing an opportunity for athletes, officials, and visitors to share a meal together and strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation.

 

                  The 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship not only served as a platform for showcasing athletic talent but also reinforced the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline among the police force. It was a moment of pride for all involved, and the organizing committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors for making this event a resounding success.

The following 13 records of Police Meet have been broken in this Police Meet :-

 

  1. RACE: 10,000 METER (MALE):- Sh. Prince Kumar from Uttar Pradesh Police created new record in 10,000 Meter race in record time 29:03 Min. He broke the previous record of 29:30 Min created in the year 2023 by Sh. Rajesh Kumar from Uttarakhand Police.
  2. RACE: 5,000 METER (MALE):- Sh. Prince Kumar from Uttar Pradesh Police created new record in 5,000 Meter race in record time 13:58 Min. He broke the previous record of 14:08 Min created in the year 1978(46 years Old) by Sh. Harichand from CRPF.
  3. 100MTR WOMEN RACE:- Ms. Vijaya Kumari from CISF created new record in 100 Meter race in record time 11:78 Sec. She broke the previous record of 11:85 Sec created in the year 2008 of Ms. Sindhu VT from CRPF
  4. POLE VAULT(Female):- Ms. KM Babita Patel from CISF created new record in pole vault jump by jumping 3.75 Meter and Ms. Reshma Raveendran from Kerala Police created new record by jumping 3.60 Meter in same event. They broke the previous record of 3.60 Meters jump created in the year 2018 by Ms. Sangeeta Kumari from CISF.
  5. POLE VAULT(Male):- Sh. Shekhar Kumar Pandey from CISF created new record in pole vault jump by jumping 5 Meter and he broke the previous record of 4.91 Meters jump created in the year 2020 by Sh. Vignesh from Tamil Nadu Police.  

 

  1. Hammer Throw (Female):- Ms. Anmol Kaur, Punjab Police created new record in Hammer Throw by throwing 58.71 meter. She broke the previous record of 57.52 meter created in the year 2023 of Ms. Manpreet Kaur from CISF.
  2. Javelin Throw (Male) :- on Day 3, Mr. Sachin Yadav from Uttar Pradesh Police created new record in Javelin Throw by throwing 82.36 meter. He broke the previous record of 79.68 meter created in the year 1994(30 years old) of Ms. Satbir Singh from Punjab Police.
  3. Javelin Throw (Male):- On Day 4, Mr. Sachin Yadav from Uttar Pradesh Police created new record in Javelin Throw by throwing 84.21 meter and he broke his own previous record of current meet i.e., 82.36 meter.
  4. 4X100 meter Relay Run(Male):- Sh. Sourav Saha, Sh. Jishnu Prasad, Sh. V Saseendran & Sh. Ranesh from BSF created new record in 4X100 meter relay run record time 40.75 Second. They broke the previous record of BSF Team of 50.86 created in the year 2005.
  5. High jump (Female):- Ms. Athira Somar from Kerala Police created new record in High jump i.e., 1.77 Meter. She broke the previous record of CRPF Team of 1.76 Meter created in the year 1999 (25 Year old).
  6. Long jump (Female):- Ms. Rimpi Burgohain from Assam Rifle created new record in Long jump i.e., 6.34 Meter. She broke the previous record of Ms. Mareena George, Kerala Police of 6.23 Meter created in the year 2023.
  7. 200 MTR Run(Male):- Sh. Jishnu Prasad, BSF created new record in 200 Mtr race in record time 21.09 Sec. He broke the previous Record of Sh. Harjit Singh, Punjab of 21.10 sec in the year 1993.
  8. 400 mtr Hurdle Run(Male):- Sh. Arjun K, Kerala created new record in 400 Mtr hurdle race in record time 52.25 Sec. He broke the previous Record of Sh. Joseph G Abraham, CRPF of 52.42 sec in the year 2005.
