Inauguration of 73rd ALL INDIA POLICE ATHLETIC CLUSTER CHAMPIONSHIP – 2024-2025 (ATHLETIC & CYCLING) by Sh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble LG/Delhi

 

On 10/11/2024, Sh. Vinai Kumar Saxena Hon’ble LG/Delhi, has inaugurated the prestigious 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium. All the senior verticals from Delhi Police were present there to witness the grand opening. The presence of Former Indian Cricketer, Sh. Virender Sehwag and Former Captain and present Coach of Indian Hockey Team, Ms. Rani Rampal further graced the occasion and they were invited as Guest of Honour.  The events were started with colorful march past by the participants with Delhi Police band. Thereafter, torch bearing ceremony took place by ACP Shri Vijay Pal Singh Tomar. Hon’ble LG Delhi took salute from marching contingents and inaugurated the colorful event. The CP Delhi welcomed the chief guest and appreciated the participants as well as spectators. 

 

In his address, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble LG Delhi explained the importance of sports in the daily life and mentioned that sports teaches discipline and discipline is the key to success. Sh. Vinai Kumar Saxena also quoted the words of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India shared with the Indian participants/players after the Paris Olympic i.e.,  “??? ?? ??? ??????? ?? ?????? ??? ???? ?? ??? ???? ???? ?? ?? ??????? ????? ??? ??? ????? ???”

 

This prestigious event will witness participation of 1123 Police Personnel (Male-759 and Female-364), in which, 39 Teams from 25 States, 04 Union Territories and 10 CAPFs will compete for top Honors and there are 45 athletic events (Male & Female) at JLN Stadium and 07 Cycling events (Male & Female) at Rohini, Delhi.
