Prestige Management and Research Institute, Gwalior successfully organized a legal aid camp on the occasion of World Labor Day

A legal aid camp was organized today on 01.05.2025 in the premises of the institute on the occasion of World Labor Day under the joint aegis of the Law Department of Prestige Management and Research Institute, Gwalior and the District Legal Services Authority. Principal District Judge, Gwalior, Shri Lalit Kishore Garg, Shri Prashant Pandey, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Shri Priyank Bhardwaj, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Gwalior were present in this camp.

The main objective of this legal aid camp was to make the working class of the institute aware of their rights and to explain that the right to justice is the fundamental right of every citizen and justice can be obtained through legal services.

As the chief guest of this program, Hon'ble Shri Lalit Kishore Garg Ji, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Gwalior, said that in today's time, the country cannot progress without laborers. The working class stays with us like a backbone in our life and is doing its work honestly and he also made us aware of the articles of the Constitution like Article 19 (i) (c), Article 23 which tell about the rights of laborers. He wished Happy Labor Day to all the laborers present in the institute.

As the guest of the program, Hon'ble Shri Prashant Pandey Ji, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gwalior, said that in today's time, he also informed the laborers present about the laws related to laborers, which included Minimum Wages Act, Workmen Act etc. and he also made the laborers aware of the rules for the wages in exchange for their work.

Guest of the program Mr. Priyank Bhardwaj, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Gwalior said that the District Legal Authority has been protecting the rights of laborers and it organizes legal aid camps to protect their rights, so that the problems of laborers are resolved.

Institute Director Dr. Nishant Joshi, Deputy Director Dr. Tarika Singh, Principal of Law Department Dr. Rakhi Singh were present in the program, who made the laborers aware of the rights of laborers during the program and highlighted the role of Labor Day and also shared their views.

During the program, all the working class members and students of the institute were present and the program was conducted by the Law Department and during the program, Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Registrar Prestige Gwalior, Associate Professor Ashish Yadav, Associate Professor Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Associate Professor Abil Hussain, Associate Professor Mansi Gupta, Associate Professor Shweta Singh and Associate Professor Rahul Srivastava were present. In the end, Associate Professor Dr. Hariom Awasthi expressed his gratitude to everyone.
