Hope Ek ASHA Sansthan organized a mega event on “Facing Dementia with Dignity and Importance of Care” at PHD House August Kranti Marg New Delhi.

The eminent panelists present in this massive public awareness programme were:- Dr. Sushma Chawla, Founder-President, Hope Ek ASHA, Prof. Mona Gupta, Chief Executive Officer Home Management and Care Givers Sector Skill Council Dr. O.P. Sharma, Senior Consultant Geriatric Medicine Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Navdeep Kumar, Senior Consultant Neurology, Indo Gulf Hospitals, Dr. Rashi Kumar, Consultant, Outreach Initiatives, provided a variety of practical knowledge to the family caregivers, thereby enhancing the understanding of dementia care among the gathering. The event was attended by more than 250 people, including eminent doctors, caregiver volunteers and representatives from NGOs. A Q&A session was also organized at the end to discuss important issues related to dementia management. A play was also presented by the caregivers of the organization during the event, which brought to life the struggle and dignity of care during dementia disease. On this occasion, the fourth edition of the book “100 Frequently Asked Questions on Alzheimer Disease” (sponsored by Power Finance Corporation) was released by the Chief Guest Mrs. Anuradha Thakur. While praising the work of the organization, the Chief Guest Mrs. Anuradha Thakur said, “I visited Asha Center, and it was an eye-opening experience.

All the facilities are excellent, world class, which is even better than our own homes. This center is not only providing medical care, but also giving a sense of love, compassion and respect, which is really commendable. Such centers are needed in more and more numbers. And also advised that whoever has not visited this center yet, they must visit once, the activities going on there are heart-touching.” In this program, an exhibition of creative works done by dementia patients was organized which highlights their creative abilities. Hope Ek Asha CEO Jasmine Sinha welcomed the chief guest, experts and all the patients with her creative work. The program was concluded by expressing gratitude and thanks to the people present.
