Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla said that no government has been able to stop the drug trade in Punjab. He said that the people of Punjab had great expectations from the Aam Aadmi Party government in this matter but Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also disappointed them.

Congress MP Gurjit Singh Aujla expressed his views frankly in the face-to-face program of State Press Club, MP and said that the neighboring country Pakistan has been engaged in weakening the roots of the country in different ways in the border states of India since the partition. In the seventies and eighties, they have been running a vicious cycle of ruining generations through terrorism and then through drugs.

MP Mr. Aujla told that the borders of his parliamentary constituency Amritsar are adjacent to the Pakistan border, so the supply of drugs from there is easy. In this matter, he wrote five letters to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in the last three years but it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister did not consider it appropriate to discuss the matter with him, let alone take action. Mr. Aujla alleged that due to the laxity of the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, the drug trade in Punjab is not being stopped. The big money involved in this trade has made the pre-election promises forgotten. He said that the administrative and police departments will have to work with full dedication to stop the drug trade and create a better image of Punjab. He also admitted that even during the rule of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress, strict action could not be taken in this matter. On the question of some organizations once again raising the demand for Khalistan, he said that such people are on the payroll of ISI and Pakistan. The common people of Punjab have no concern with this demand. Senior Congress leader and three-time MP from Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that the country is going through a period of dictatorship and the voice of the opposition is being suppressed by the Modi government. Instead of answering the people who expose serious matters, they are being sent to jail. He accepted that in the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha, the number of Congress and opposition MPs was less, so the government used to ignore our issues, but in this term, the government has to respond to everything immediately. He said that if the opposition in the country becomes strong, then the society will progress. He said that now the public has also started understanding the reality of those who came to power by deceiving the voters in the name of religion. Indore in-charge MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla of the ongoing organization creation program for the selection of city-district Congress presidents of Congress said that in the Gujarat conference of Congress, it was decided in accordance with the sentiments of the workers that the appointment of district presidents across the country will be done after extensive consultation. In this connection, this program was inaugurated in Bhopal recently in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Harish Chaudhary, Jeetu Patwari, Umang Sighar etc. At present, 55 observers of Congress in Madhya Pradesh are conducting consultation in the districts for new presidents. All observers will submit their reports to the Congress headquarters before June 30. It is expected that new presidents will be announced next month. He said that there is no age or caste restriction for the new president. Experience and loyalty will definitely be given priority. About a dozen Congressmen have claimed the post of president in Indore. He claimed that the new president will not be the president of any faction but will be called the president of Congress. He will work with everyone at the booth, block, assembly and district level. It will also be the responsibility of the president to raise the anti-people policies of the government boldly. On this occasion, Vice President of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee and Indore in-charge Ravi Joshi, city president Surjit Singh Chaddha, Congress leaders Rajesh Chouksey, Sach Saluja, Amit Chaurasia, Anil Yadav, Harsh Jain, Om Silawat, Ankit Khadayata etc. were present.
