16.10.2024 - Brief description of the incident:- Information was received about the bodies of mother-daughter Reena Bhalla and Indu Puri lying in the flat in Flat No. 322 of Garden Homes located in the University Police Station area. On the said information, it was prima facie visible that the mother-daughter were murdered by unknown miscreants. On receiving the information of the said sensitive incident, considering the seriousness of the incident, Inspector General of Police Gwalior Zone Shri Arvind Saxena (IPS) and Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamveer Singh (IPS) reached the spot along with police officers and FSL team and after inspecting the spot, gave necessary instructions to the police officers to trace and arrest all the accused wanted in the said incident.
When the crime scene was investigated by forensic and finger print experts, it was found in the initial investigation that both the women were strangulated to death. A case was registered against the unknown accused of the murder in Thana Vishwavidyalaya under Crime No. 367/24 Section 103(1), 309(6) BNS and 11/13 MPDPK Act and investigation was taken up. Thereafter on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Gwalior, Additional Superintendent of Police (East/Traffic/Crime) Shri Krishna Lalchandani, IPS, Crime Branch and Thana Vishwavidyalaya Police teams were deployed for immediate arrest of the accused of the said incident.
In compliance with the instructions of senior officers, under the able guidance of ASP Crime Mr. Ayush Gupta (IPS) and DSP Crime Mr. Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, joint teams of Crime Branch and Police Station Force were deployed to trace and arrest the accused of the above incident under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Crime Branch Inspector Ajay Singh Panwar and Police Station Incharge University Inspector Upendra Chari. The police team identified some suspects on the basis of CCTV footage and technical evidence of the incident site, then when their search was started, it was found that one of the suspects used to work at the shop of deceased Reena Bhalla earlier, who is Irfan Khan, a resident of Gohad district Bhind. As soon as this was known, half a dozen police teams were deployed to arrest the accused.
On the basis of technical assistance and informer information, the police team caught the main accused Irfan Khan and the second accused Ankur Jha of the above murder incident from Gohad district Bhind. The second police team got information that two accused have left for Bhopal after the incident. On the above information, the police team has detained accused Pramod Mathur and Chhotu Jat from Bhopal and started interrogation. During interrogation of the arrested accused, they have admitted to looting ATM cards, jewellery, mobiles, cash etc. The police team has recovered 01 mobile, 07 ATM cards and Rs. 4600/- cash from the accused, the process of recovery of remaining cash, 01 mobile and jewellery is underway and the reason for the above incident is said to be the main accused Irfan Khan, who had planned and committed the incident of robbery and murder in a planned manner with his accomplices due to the grudge of deceased Reena Bhalla for firing him from the domestic and shop job about 6 months ago and not paying some amount of salary.
