Safdarjung Komal Kadam Creche Opens at Safdarjung Hospital.

          New Delhi, [16/10/24] - Safdarjung Hospital is pleased to announce that a new crèche facility was inaugurated today, aimed at providing quality childcare services to the hospital staff . The crèche was officially opened by Madam Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, in a ceremony attended by distinguished guests and hospital officials.

         The event was graced by the presence of Madam Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, as the Chief Guest, and Madam Roli Singh, Additional Secretary, as the Special Guest. Hospital representatives included Dr. Vandana Talwar, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Geetika Khanna, Principal VMMC, and Dr. Vandana Chakravarty, Senior CMO In-charge of the Crèche.

           In her inaugural address, Madam Punya Salila Srivastava stated, "The inauguration of this crèche is a significant step towards supporting our dedicated healthcare workers. By providing a safe and nurturing environment for their children, we are enabling our staff to focus on their critical roles in patient care. This facility is not just a convenience; it's an investment in the well-being of our healthcare community and, by extension, in the quality of care we provide to our patients."

            Madam Roli Singh added, "This initiative aligns perfectly with our government's commitment to supporting healthcare workers and their families. The crèche will play a crucial role in reducing stress for working parents and promoting a healthier work-life balance. It's heartening to see Safdarjung Hospital taking such proactive steps to support its staff."

             Dr. Vandana Talwar, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, expressed her gratitude, saying, "We are immensely proud to inaugurate this crèche facility. It addresses a long-standing need of our staff and demonstrates our commitment to their welfare. We believe that by supporting our healthcare workers in this way, we will see improved job satisfaction, increased productivity, and ultimately, enhanced patient care."

           Dr. Geetika Khanna, Principal VMMC, highlighted the educational aspects of the crèche, stating, "This facility is more than just a childcare center. It's an early learning environment where children can develop social skills, engage in educational activities, and grow in a safe space. For our staff, knowing that their children are nearby and well-cared for will bring immeasurable peace of mind."

             Dr. Vandana Chakravarty, Senior CMO In-charge of the Crèche, detailed the facility's features: "Our crèche is equipped to care for up to 15 children at a time, aged between 6 months to 6 years. It will operate from 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM, aligning with hospital shifts. We have trained staff, age-appropriate toys, and learning materials. Regular health check-ups  will be provided. Safety is our top priority, with strict hygiene protocols and security measures in place."

             The Greater Kailash Lions Service Foundation has played a crucial role in establishing this facility. As part of their community service project, they generously contributed essential equipment for the crèche, including tables, chairs, beds, furniture, slides, swings, and a variety of toys and educational materials.

             The new crèche facility has been established in full compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. This initiative underscores Safdarjung Hospital's commitment to supporting its staff and enhancing the overall healthcare experience for patients and visitors.
