Delhi State Legal Services Authority conducted Para Legal Volunteer Training Programme for the students of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) on 22nd & 23rd October, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM at Main Auditorium, MAIMS College, Maharaja Agrasen Chowk, PSP Area, Sector – 22, Rohini, New Delhi.
The training programme started with lighting of lamp by Ld. Dignitaries. In the training programme Dr. Purnima Gupta, Sr. Assistant Professor, MAIMS gave the introductory remarks followed by the welcome address and address by Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Malhotra Dhingra, Director, MAIMS & Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Founder and Chief Advisor, MATES respectively.
Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA delivered the first session on “Introduction to Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 and activities of DSLSA, “Role and Responsibilities of PLVs” with the help of PPT. Short videos were also played to make the session more visually expressive. The session was very informative. Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA also interacted with the participants and made the participants aware about functions and functioning this Authority and 24X7 helpline number of DSLSA #1516 & NALSA #15100.
Thereafter, Sh. Vikas Chandwani, Soft Skill Trainer delivered the session on the topic “Effective communication & Interpersonal Skills” with the help of PPT followed by the session delivered by Sh. Lalit Kumar, Ld. Secretary, East DLSA on the topic “Overview of Criminal Justice System including Bail; Rights of Accused and Victims; Registration of FIR u/s 173 BNSS (earlier 154 Cr. P.C) and Petition under 175(3) BNSS earlier 156(3) Cr. P.C”. Powerpoint presentation made the session more effective and informative. The last session of the first day was delivered by Ms. Kanika Jain, Ld. Secretary, North West DLSA on the topic “Overview of Matrimonial Laws including Section 85 BNS (earlier 498A IPC; Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005; Section 144 BNSS (earlier 125 Cr. P. C)” with the help of PPT.
All the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the respective Ld. Resource persons.
