Ensure Safe Firecracker Sales: Minister Urges Proper Setup.

            Gwalior 24 October 2024, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar has appealed to the electricity consumers to celebrate a safe Diwali by taking electrical safety and precautions on Diwali. The company has appealed to all firecracker businessmen not to set up shops under the power line, under the transformer or adjacent to it. There is a possibility of accident due to setting up a shop under the transformer and a small carelessness can take the form of a big accident. He has also requested the citizens not to display firecrackers and fireworks under and around power lines.

           Minister Shri Tomar said that for lighting decoration on the festival of Diwali, consumers should use electricity only as per the approved load from the existing electricity connection in their premises. Do not increase additional load without approval and do not use electricity unauthorizedly by laying wires directly. Electricity theft or increase in connected load without approval is illegal and there is a provision of penalty for this in the Electricity Act 2003.

         Regarding the lighting arrangements for the temporary shops selling sweets, idols, decorations, utensils merchants, firecracker shops and other items related to the Diwali festival, the electricity company has requested the traders to use electricity only by taking a temporary connection as per the rules.
