INSCR-2025 Award Ceremony Concludes with Grandeur in Suriname’s Capital ‘Ladali Betiya’ film based on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign honored with prestigious award

On May 17, the capital city of Paramaribo, Suriname, hosted the INSCR-2025 (India, Netherlands, Nepal, Suriname Social Collaboration Rewards) award ceremony with great enthusiasm. The event was organized under the initiative of Suriname’s Minister of Public Works, Mr. Riad Nurmohamed.

The ceremony began by honoring First Lady of Suriname, Mrs. Melissa Santokhi, for her significant contributions to women’s welfare.

The main award of the evening was conferred upon the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Sarita Gangadharrao Fadnavis, for the film “Ladali Betiya” produced under his leadership by the Beed Police Department. The film is based on the visionary national campaign ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, spearheaded by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

This prestigious award was presented by the President of Suriname, Hon’ble Mr. Chandrikapersad Santokhi. Due to the current situation in Kashmir, Mr. Fadnavis could not attend the ceremony in person. The award was received on his behalf by Mr. Babasaheb Jogdand from the Navkiran Police Foundation and Mr. Subhash Gupta, the Ambassador of India to Suriname.

President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, who is of Indian origin, has made remarkable contributions to Suriname’s development since 2020. India and Suriname share deep cultural ties, and the strong bond between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Santokhi played a vital role in hosting INSCR-2025 in Suriname.

Special efforts were made for the successful execution of the event by Mr. Robby Bhikki (Lead Organizer, MUSK Netherlands) and Mr. Dewdath Bhaggoe (Suriname Government Official).

The event was graced by the presence of several key ministers of Suriname including Minister of Foreign Affairs Albert Ramdin, Minister of Public Works Riad Nurmohamed, Minister of Economic Affairs Rishma Kuldipsingh, and Minister of Defence Krishna Mathoera.

The program was hosted by Ms. Varsha Ramratan from the Surinamese Embassy in the USA.

All dignitaries in attendance expressed their gratitude to President Santokhi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and praised their leadership and vision behind this initiative.

The INSCR-2025 event stood as a strong example of social harmony and international collaboration, celebrating the shared values between India and Suriname.
