Operation Abhyaas Mock Drill Today in Ahmedabad: 10 Locations on High Alert, Blackout Simulation Included

On May 7, 2025, the city of Ahmedabad is conducting a major civil defence mock drill under Operation Abhyaas, organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The drill is being carried out across 10 key locations in the city, including air raid sirens, evacuation procedures, and a blackout simulation to test emergency protocols in real-time.

The exercise will run from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with a citywide blackout scheduled from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, where residents are urged to turn off their lights to simulate power outages.

The objective of this drill is to prepare citizens and authorities for emergency situations such as air raids, natural disasters, or terrorist threats. Residents are urged to cooperate and remain calm during the exercise.

Mock drill at 10 key locations such as Memnagar, Lal Darwaja, GMDC Building, and others.
Activities include air raid sirens, evacuation drills, and a blackout simulation.
Residents are asked to avoid spreading panic and do not share rumors on social media.
