AJFC's state-level government award declared for MMRC's Sunil Aatpadkar Mumbai: The country's leading journalist organization, All Journalist and Friends Circle (AJFC), has announced this year's awards, and 10 dignitaries from various fields have been selected for the award. The state-level government officer award has been declared for Sunil Aatpadkar, Assistant Social Development Officer of MMRC's Social Development Department.

About AJFC

In 2005, the organization was founded by veteran journalists from the journalism field, including journalists and dignitaries from various fields of society. Since its inception, AJFC has organized annual conferences, workshops, and award ceremonies. These awards were initially given to journalists and senior journalists, but with the inclusion of other sections of society in the organization, the awards have become more inclusive.

Selection Process

The AJFC award selection committee had called for nominations for the awards two months ago, and hundreds of nominations were received for various awards. From these, the selection committee chose special dignitaries for the award. Thirteen nominations were received for the state-level government officer award category, but Sunil Aatpadkar's selection was unanimously approved and announced.

Congratulatory Message

With this award announcement, Sunil Aatpadkar is being congratulated at all levels. The government established the MMRC authority for sustainable development in Mumbai, with the main objective of modernizing the city. Today, looking at Mumbai's modern form, it can be seen that this objective has been fully achieved.

Modernization of Mumbai

The core process of modernization involves acquiring land for projects and rehabilitating the affected citizens. After 1972, Mumbai accelerated its modernization pace, and after 2014, many large projects were undertaken in Mumbai, including metro, monorail, Atal Setu, and underground tunnels.

Role of Social Development Department

The Social Development Department plays a significant role in the rehabilitation process of people affected by these projects. The office of the Social Development Department is located on the third floor of the old administrative building of the MMRC authority. The office is crowded with citizens in the afternoon, and Sunil Aatpadkar's office is always filled with residents of project-affected areas.

Sunil Aatpadkar's Work

Even after rehabilitation, residents visit him for various issues, and he is available to meet them until 7 pm. It is said that an officer's work is judged by the files he handles. Sunil Aatpadkar's office is filled with files, and it seems like a warehouse of files.

Empowering Women through Sankalp

Despite MMRC's primary responsibility being rehabilitation, Sunil Aatpadkar has taken it upon himself to empower women through savings groups like "Sankalp". Today, the Sankalp savings group has over a thousand women members, and they are able to earn a living through the group. Some women have even become entrepreneurs through the group. Sunil Aatpadkar deserves credit for this.

Award Ceremony

The award ceremony will be held on June 7 at the Adya Krantiveer Balwant Vasudev Fadke Auditorium in Panvel, from 10 am to 3 pm. Senior journalist Jatin Desai will be the chairman of the program, and Padmashri Girish Prabhune, MP Ramsh Seth Thakur, MP Shrirang Barne, MLA Mahendra Dalvi, MLA Prashant Thakur, MLA Vikrant Patil, Congress District President Mahendra Gharat, Mayor JM Mhatre, Opposition Leader Pritam Mhatre, Balasaheb Patil, and other dignitaries from the political, social, and literary fields will be present.
