INCIDENT DETAILS
The convict, Hamidullah, a resident of Old Mustafabad, Delhi, was the father of five daughters. Following the death of his wife, he was living alone with his three minor daughters, as the other two had already been married off. On 30.07.1999, a girl lodged a report at Police Station Gokulpuri, alleging that her father had attempted to poison her and her two younger sisters. She stated that on the previous night (29.07.1999) around 10:30 p.m., her father returned home and gave her three capsules—blue on the outside and white on the inside—asking her to consume one and administer the other two to her sisters.
When she questioned the need, since only she had stomach pain, the father insisted and personally placed the capsules in the mouths of the younger girls. The complainant pretended to ingest the capsule but discreetly hid it under her tongue.
Soon thereafter, both younger sisters exhibited signs of poisoning, including labored breathing and frothing at the mouth, while the complainant experienced irritation and spat out the capsule outside the house. She ran to seek help from neighbors. Upon their return, they found the father had absconded. The family rushed the girls to the hospital, where both were declared dead.
