From addressing the need for warehouses in Delhi to honoring trader leaders, we remain committed to them — Virendra Sachdeva
Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva, while addressing a program organized by the trade organization CAIT, congratulated the Delhi government led by Mrs. Rekha Gupta, and said that the formation of the Traders’ Welfare Board is a major step towards fulfilling BJP’s manifesto commitments to traders. He added that the BJP remains committed to further initiatives — from addressing the warehouse space needs in Delhi to honoring trader leaders.

Mr. Virendra Sachdeva stated that Delhi is a trade distribution hub, and trade is the largest source of revenue for the city. Therefore, traders must be further encouraged.

At the program organized by CAIT General Secretary and MP Shri Praveen Khandelwal, traders felicitated Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, Delhi Ministers, and State BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva.

On the stage were present:
MP Shri Manoj Tiwari, Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Shri Yogendra Chandolia, Mrs. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, along with Delhi Government Ministers Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Shri Ashish Sood, Delhi Deputy Mayor Shri Jay Bhagwan Yadav, and Standing Committee Chairperson Mrs. Satya Sharma.

All the distinguished guests were felicitated by CAIT Delhi President Shri Vipin Ahuja, Shri Sumit Aggarwal, and other trader leaders.

Key Highlights :

1. Formation of the Traders’ Welfare Board is a fulfillment of the BJP manifesto and offers traders a golden opportunity to participate in shaping trade policy.

2. A major issue faced by wholesale traders in Delhi is the lack of land for warehouses, which is prompting some markets to look for land in other states. Delhi BJP and the government will soon urge the Union Urban Development Minister, Lieutenant Governor, and DDA Vice Chairman to provide land to trader organizations on a society-based model for building warehouses, so that Delhi’s trade remains in Delhi. If land is scarce, traders can form societies to build multi-storey warehouses.

3. Trader leaders have played a significant role in Delhi’s development, and as a mark of respect, Delhi BJP will propose to Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta and Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh that various markets be named after these leaders or have gateways named in their honor.

4. Attention should be given to enhancing the role of market associations in market cleanliness, park maintenance, and parking arrangements.

5. The party will regularly coordinate between the party organization, Delhi government, and MPs to represent the interests of Delhi’s traders before various departments of the central government.
