Expert Lecture on Student Wellness & Counselling Organized at J.C. Bose University

The Department of Computer Science and Applications, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, successfully organized an Expert Lecture on Student Wellness and Counselling, witnessing enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students.
The lecture was aimed at promoting mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and stress management among students, recognizing the strong connection between academic success and psychological health. In today’s demanding academic environment, such initiatives serve as essential platforms for awareness, guidance, and support.
The session was delivered by Ms. Chakshita M., an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist associated with Metro Hospital and Heart Institutes. She shared valuable insights on managing stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional challenges. Her empathetic and client-centered approach enabled students to engage openly and gain practical strategies for improving their mental well-being.
The event was organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar and the initiative of Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga, reflecting the University’s commitment to holistic development. Dean, Faculty of Informatics and Computing, Prof. Manjeet Singh Tomar appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of fostering a positive and healthy academic environment.
Dr. Shilpa Munjal, Chairperson of the Department, highlighted the growing need for counselling and mental health awareness among students in today’s high-pressure academic settings. The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. Mamta Kathuria and Ms. Rashika.
The lecture concluded with the message that mental health is a priority and an integral part of student development. The Department reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing emotionally resilient and well-rounded individuals.
