Ali Asgar Bohra - Jhabua
Farmers expressed their anger by riding on more than 400 tractor trolleys.
In Jhabua district of western Madhya Pradesh, former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria along with Congress MLAs including Manawar MLA and in-charge of Kisan Nyay Yatra Hiralal Alawa, Jhabua MLA Dr. Vikant Bhuria and Thandla MLA Veer Singh Bhuria along with many tribal leaders, a general meeting of Kisan Nyay Yatra was held in Krishi Upaj Mandi by the District Executive of the Congress Party. In which thousands of farmers from across the district took part in Apna Nyay Yatra with tractor trolleys and protested. The said Nyay Yatra started from Krishi Upaj Mandi premises and reached the District Collector's Office via the main roads of the city where a memorandum was handed over to His Excellency the Governor and the President under the leadership of former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, Manawar MLA and Kisan Nyay Yatra in-charge Hiralal Alawa, Jhabua MLA Dr. Vikrant Bhuria, Thandla MLA Veersingh Bhuria, Petlawad former MLA Walsingh Meda, District Congress President Prakash Raka.
The said event was organized in the presence of thousands of farmers in the local Krishi Upaj Mandi premises. In which former Union Minister of Congress Kantilal Bhuria called the BJP government of the state anti-farmer instead of calling it a well-wisher of the farmers. He said that the BJP government is reneging on its promises to the farmers. He had said that farmers would be given soybean at more than Rs 6 thousand and wheat at Rs 2700 per quintal. But neither the price of soybean nor that of wheat is coming up. Soybean is being sold at a price of Rs. 4500 and Rs. 2400 per quintal. Due to which the farmer brothers are troubled. The farmer is doing farming by taking loan for expensive fertilizer, expensive medicine, expensive seeds, on which he is getting a price of crores for his crops. We oppose the exploitation of farmers by the government. He said that the Chief Minister says that he is the son of a farmer, then why are the farmers in MP facing so much trouble, why are they not getting the right price for their produce. By protesting against this, a memorandum was handed over to the Collector's office in the name of His Excellency the Governor and the President so that they get justice in the interest of the farmers and they also get the right price for their produce.
Manawar MLA and in-charge of Kisan Nyay Yatra Hiralal Alawa has considered the said Yatra to be for the benefit of the farmers. He said that in a country where farmers have to face trouble, how will you get the morsel of food from your mouth. Think about it, the farmer who produces food grains for himself and others by working day and night in the sun, rain and cold, if that farmer has to face trouble and has to protest, then can such a government think about the welfare of the farmers. This movement will continue in a phased manner to accept the demands of the farmers in the entire state.
Jhabua MLA Dr. Vikrant Bhuria said that the BJP government is doing dictatorship. In which neither anyone has the right to speak nor to protest. If a farmer speaks, he is put in jail. If a journalist speaks, action is taken against him. The entire system is running a dictatorial attitude. Farmers are not getting the right price for their produce in today's time, that is why the movement is being done. The same state government is going back on what it had said to the farmers regarding the prices of soybean and wheat. Similarly, the guest teachers were also cheated, first they made promises and then later they were not given anything. They are reneging on one promise after another. Now the public and farmers will not sit quiet. This is the clarion call of the public's movement and if these demands are not met, then even bigger movements will be seen.
The said event was successfully organised by Congress District President Prakashansh Raka. A large number of Congress workers and thousands of farmers from across the district protested in the event.
