He was unwell for some time. There is a wave of mourning in the Brahma Kumaris family due to his death. Meditation and Sadhana is going on at the service centers located in the country and abroad. His mortal remains were kept for the public to see for the last time in the conference hall of Shantivan headquarters from 9 am on Friday. On 21 December, after visiting Pandav Bhawan, Gyan Sarovar, Global Hospital, Museum in Mount Abu, the last rites will be performed at Abu Road Muktidham on 22 September at 10 am. When the body reached Shantivan, hundreds of people including Sansthan Pramukh Rajyogini Dadi Ratanmohini, Joint Chief Administrator BK Munni, BK Shashi, Additional General Secretary BK Brijmohan, Media Head BK Karuna, Executive Secretary BK Mrityunjay, BK Gayatri who came from America, paid floral tributes.

Media Director BK Karuna Bhai told that BK Nirvair Bhai was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Ahmedabad 5-6 days ago due to infection in his lungs, where he died of a sudden attack on Thursday night. As soon as the news of his death was received, senior Brahmakumar brothers and sisters of the Sansthan from all over the country started reaching Shantivan.

Mother left him at the age of one:

Born in an Akali family on 20 November 1938 in Gurdaspur, Punjab, BK Nirvairbhai had a special inclination towards religion and spirituality since childhood. His family background was rich and spiritual. His mother passed away at the age of one year. After this, his brothers brought him up. He had not yet come to his senses when, at the age of nine, he heard the news of the country's independence on 15 August 1947 and his father also left this world after getting free from his old body. There was no shortage of any kind in the upbringing of Rajyogi Nirvairbhai, the youngest of the three brothers, and his brothers raised him by giving him the love of parents. Although he was born in an Akali family, his inclination towards spirituality kept increasing continuously.

Kept changing schools continuously:

His early education took place in many schools. He kept changing schools continuously. From primary to tenth, his studies were completed in Urdu. The first class was in Pangala and then from class two to fourth class in Ojanwala School. After this, from fifth to onwards, he completed his studies in Mukeria's Anglo Sanskriti High School. Being a bright student since childhood, he started getting scholarship from fourth class.

Books changed the direction of life:

Rajyogi Nirvair's elder brother had a big library at home. His elder brother used to give him informative books to read, but his mind was satisfied by reading Swami Ramtirtha's books. During his high school studies, he became more fond of Swami Vivekananda's books. On this, he used to study the four types of yoga told by Swami Vivekananda very closely and practiced in the morning. From here onwards, his inclination towards spirituality kept increasing.

Studied in boarding, used to go to school on a horse:

His schooling was done while staying in boarding. During his studies in 1953, he liked going to school very much on horse and bicycle. His nature was completely different from other boys. Sleeping early and waking up early was one of my habits since childhood. The habit of always learning and the passion to do well was my aim. At the age of 16, I got selected for the post of electronic engineer in the Navy and went to Visakhapatnam for intensive. After staying there for a few months in 1955, I went to Lonavala and stayed there for one and a half years and took all kinds of training on a ship. After this, I got transferred to Jamnagar in Gujarat. I kept on taking training while staying in Jamnagar and intensive was completed. I became proficient in the field of electronics by taking detailed training on everything from radar to other things on the ship itself.

Took engineering training in Pune:

During this time, I took training in Pune's engineering college by observing all the things of the ship in great detail. I understood and observed everything from accommodation to food and drink in detail. Then I became proficient in everything because in the Navy, intensive training is given that even if you are left alone on the ship for some reason, the ship should not be allowed to sink. Even in those days, the Navy had a great system. Along with this, due to having complete knowledge of radar, he was also given the responsibility of the radar control room.

The direction of life changed after meeting Brahma Baba in 1960:

It was the year 1959. Brahma Kumaris Seva Kendra was started in Punjab. Due to interest in spirituality and yoga, you joined the institute and started regularly participating in spiritual satsang. But the direction of your life changed after meeting the founder Brahma Baba in Mount Abu in the year 1960. Then you decided that now you have to dedicate your whole life to social service and world welfare. After this, you resigned from the Indian Navy and came to Mount Abu and settled here. You were serving for the last 55 years.

And got discharged from the Navy:

Once while narrating his experience, BK Nirvair Bhai had told that Baba had said that by doing yoga for eight hours daily, even the impossible becomes possible. At that time we did yoga for eight hours daily for a month and got discharged from the Navy. Then Baba gave me the service of building a museum in Mount Abu in 1969. After Baba's demise, I came to Mount Abu in 1970 and dedicated myself completely. After that, I gradually got the opportunity to take forward the divine services with Dadi Prakashmani and Didi Manmohini. After this, I kept getting opportunities to serve the organization at the global level and in the activities of the organization.

He was a man of serious personality:

Due to your dedication, commitment and sharp intelligence towards service, Brahma Baba entrusted you with important responsibilities in a short time. In this way, whatever responsibility you got in life, you fulfilled it with full passion and dedication. Moving forward on the path of service and sadhana, you became the General Secretary of the organization. It is the wonder of your dedication that despite the presence of women power in the main positions in Brahma Kumaris, you were entrusted with the important responsibility of the organization. Under your direction and guidance, services were given a new dimension on a large scale in the country and abroad. You were a man of serious nature. If any Brahma Kumar brothers and sisters went to you with any kind of problem, you would give a proper solution to it.

Participated in the conference held at the United Nations Headquarters:

In the year 1982, BK Nirvair Bhai represented the Vishwavidyalaya in the second special session on disarmament (SSOD) held at the United Nations Headquarters. Where he officially met the United Nations Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar and other dignitaries. Apart from this, he presided over the national and international conferences held every year at the headquarters Shantivan.

Awarded with various awards:

  • In the year 1999, he was awarded the 'Rising Personalities of India Award' by the International Penguin Publishing House.
  • In the year 2001, he was awarded the 'Morarji Desai Peace Education International Award' under the Gujarat Gaurav Award by the Governor of Gujarat.
  • Apart from this, he was honored by many social organizations from time to time.

Played an important role in the management of the headquarters:

From the year 1974 till today, he played an important role in the construction and management of the Shantivan campus, Manmohanivan, Anand Sarovar, Man Sarovar, and Gyan Sarovar of the headquarters of Brahma Kumaris. Many historical works were done under your able guidance.

You were the trustee of Global Hospital:

You played an important role in the establishment and operation of Global Hospital from the beginning till now. You were the chief trustee of the hospital. Also, under your guidance, the ground breaking ceremony of Global Multispecialty Hospital to be built on 50 acres was done recently.

.... I felt I was getting separated from the body
When I was not connected to divine knowledge, I used to do yoga as told by Swami Ramtirtha and Swami Vivekananda. One day, while I was doing yoga, I felt I was getting separated from the body. These were the invaluable moments of life for me. At that very moment, I thought whether I would come back or not. By then, I regained consciousness. This was an important moment of life. I had to stay inside the submarine for a long time. During that time, I was posted in Mumbai.
