11-September-2024. Indian player Pinky Balara performed brilliantly in the National Nomad Games held in Kazakhstan and won the gold medal in the Kurash event. Kazakhstan celebrates the Nomad Games like its national games, in which teams from the country and abroad are also invited to participate in various events. These games are to be organized from 9 to 15 September. Where the Indian challenge ended with the Kurash event.
According to team chief Ravi Kapoor, a 9-member team of the Indian team is participating in the Kurash event in these games. Ravi Kapoor is also the President of Indian Kurash and Technical Secretary at the international level. Ravi Kapoor told coach Samundra Singh Tokas on the phone that Asian champion Pinky Balara won the gold by defeating the player of the host country in the 57 kg weight category. While Ratan won bronze medal in 60 kg weight category and Veer Devendra Walia won bronze medal in over 100 kg weight category. Pinky Balara's coach Samundra Singh Tokas expressed hope that his disciple will go ahead of preparations for 2028 Olympics and bring the country its first medal in Kurash.
