Prestige's NSS unit organized a mega program on Swachhata Hi Seva today on 19th September on the campus of Prestige Management and Research Institute, Gwalior.
The main objective of this mega program was to promote the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign being run by the Government of India. During this mega program, volunteers of Prestige's NSS unit started a cleanliness drive in the institute and started a campaign to make and use paper bags instead of the plastic bags being used daily.
Institute Director Dr. Nishant Joshi told that the Government of India is running the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign from 17th September to 2nd October in which our Prestige's NSS unit has also been given an opportunity to participate in the campaign and NSS has also participated in it. The volunteers of the unit completed the cleanliness drive in the institute and they said that it should be the primary responsibility of all of us to clean and maintain our surroundings. This keeps our body healthy and the environment clean.
The co-director of the institute, Dr. Tarika Singh said that cleanliness keeps our body and mind clean and if the environment around us is clean, then we and our society will remain clean and she said that the NSS unit of our Prestige institute is working for the people of the society and with this kind of work, other people of the society also get encouraged and show their interest in doing social work.
During this program, more than 100 volunteers of the NSS unit of Prestige institute were present in which all the volunteers were given caps, pens, gloves and diaries. The coordinator of this Swachhata Hi Seva program was the program officer of the NSS unit of Prestige institute, Saha. Professor Abil Hussain and co-coordinator was Associate Professor Tanya Mathur. Other faculty and staff members were also present during the program.
