Urge Centre to intervene and ensure that levels in Yamuna don’t rise further.” Meanwhile, a single-judge bench comprising Justice Anish Dayal of Delhi High Court has granted bail to former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain, in five cases related to the Northeast delhi riot Hussain was booked for rioting, mischief by fire and criminal conspiracy.
The bail has been granted subject to certain conditions, the HC said. In other news, delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and the AAP government in Delhi came to verbal blows over the issue of waterlogging due to incessant rainfall which has continued to lash the capital since the weekend. Taking stock of the situation around river banks on Tueasday, he said, “The people of, delhi are fed up with waterlogging; it has become a yearly ritual. The cleaning of sewers is not done, the harvesting of rainwater is not being done properly. This waterlogging is a result of the required work not having been done over several years.”
