Galgotias University’s School of Agriculture in collaboration with IPL organized an important Sustainability Conclave on the theme “Productivity and Green Growth”.

Galgotias University’s School of Agriculture in collaboration with IPL organised an important Sustainability Conclave on the theme “Productivity and Green Growth” where leading experts in Agriculture, Sustainability and Rural Development discussed the future of sustainable agricultural practices. The event was graced by Dr. C.P. Reddy, Senior Additional Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development as the Chief Guest and Padma Shri Dr. V.P. Singh, a renowned plant breeder as the Guest of Honour.

Several prominent progressive farmers, including Padma Shri Manoj Tyagi, Shri Dharampal Tyagi, Shri Rajkumar Sangwan and Shri Baljit Singh also attended the event and shared their experiences and views on sustainable agricultural practices. In the first technical session, several eminent experts such as Dr. Rajiv Ranjan (Retd. IAS), Founding Director ICRO; Dr. U.S. Teotia, Chief Manager-Agri Sciences, IPL; Dr. R.S. Bana, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Dr. Sunil Kumar, Director, IIFSR; Dr. Raghavendra Singh, Head CSRM, IIFSR; Dr. P.K. Sahu, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Dr. Praveen Upadhyay, Senior Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Shri Ashok Wadhwan, Innovator and Entrepreneur; and Dr. P.K. Singh, Director Extension, SVPUAT had in-depth discussions on sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and climate-resilient practices. In the second technical session, Dr. Mukesh Sehgal, Principal Scientist, NCIPM; Dr. Kusumakar Sharma, Distinguished Professor, SOAG; Dr. Ram Vilad Paswan, National President, AIASA; and Dr. Ninad Mahajan, General Secretary, AIASA and Dr. Ashish Khandelwal, Scientist, ICAR-IARI discussed integrated pest management, eco-friendly practices in animal husbandry, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Galgotias University students had the opportunity to present their research and innovations through a poster session, with the best presentations being awarded with certificates in the closing session.

A farmer awareness session was also organised, where farmers asked questions to the scientists and their problems were resolved. The Conclave concluded with the closing address by Dr. Rajiv Ranjan (IAS, Retd.), Founding Director, ICRO, who emphasised the need to adopt sustainable agricultural practices for a greener and more resilient agricultural future.

Shri Sunil Galgotia, Chancellor, Galgotias University, lauded the initiative and said, “This Conclave is a testimony to Galgotias University’s commitment to promoting innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Bringing together such diverse experts and progressive farmers provides a rich educational environment for our students, who will be the flag bearers of sustainable agriculture in the future.”
