Akola| Awes Siddiqui |
The Mahayuti government has taken a landmark step by establishing the Maharashtra State Scheduled Tribes Commission, winning the appreciation of over 1.35 lakh tribal citizens in Akola. Speaking at a press conference, BJP Tribal Front District President Umesh Pawar expressed gratitude towards Tribal Affairs Minister Ashok Uike, CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for allocating a separate budget for the commission. The commission will consist of one chairperson and four non-government members, aiming to protect tribal rights and focus on issues like education, healthcare, and displacement. Pawar emphasized that this body will serve as a vital link between the government, administration, and tribal communities. Local leaders and BJP members, including Santosh Shivarkar, Sulbha Solanke, and others, were present. Pawar also urged mass tribal participation in the Raj Rajeshwar Nagar Development Dialogue on June 11.
