AN INTER-STATE GANG OF SUPPLIERS OF STOLEN MOBILE PHONE BUSTED BY THE TEAM OF SPECIAL STAFF, NORTH DISTRICT : 224 STOLEN MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED

  • AFTER GETTING UNLOCK THESE MOBILE PHONES THROUGH MOBILE REPAIRING SHOPS, THEY USED TO TRANSPORT THESE  MOBILE PHONES IN BULK TO NEPAL VIA MUNGER, BIHAR.
  • THIS TIME, THE CONSIGNMENT WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE RECENT FALL OF THE GOVERNMENT IN NEPAL FOLLOWING THE GEN Z UPRISING.
  • WHILE CONTACTING THE USERS OF THE RECOVERED MOBILE PHONES, THEY INFORMED THAT THEIR PHONES HAD BEEN STOLEN OR SNATCHED, AND MONEY HAD ALSO BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THEIR ACCOUNTS THROUGH UPI.
 
Working on the directions of senior officers to act against the receivers of stolen & snatched mobile phones and to restore the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners, a dedicated team of Special Staff led by Inspr. Rohit Saraswat, (I/C Special Staff), comprising SI Manoj, SI Praveen, ASI Yatender, HC Parveen, HC Gurvinder, HC Balkishan, HC Sandeep, Ct Sachin, Ct Ravi, Ct Nitin, DHG Naresh under supervision of Shri Hemant Kumar Mishra, ACP/Operations Cell/North District has busted an Inter-State Gang of suppliers of stolen mobile phones who were selling mobile phones in Nepal transporting via Munger after breaking lock pattern of the mobile phones from different mobile shops in Azad Market and Gaffar Market, Delhi.
 
INFORMATION AND OPERATION:
The dedicated team deployed their secret sources and gathered local intelligence about the persons involved in sale/purchase of stolen mobile phones. During this process, Ct. Sachin received an information that some persons used to receive stolen mobile phones from different snatchers & pick-pockets at DRP Lines, Pul Mithai Railway track and further supply these mobile phones to Nepal. The team activated their sources and this information was further developed which gave result and a specific information was received that on 12th September, two boys namely Brindavan and Mukesh, would board a train from Anand Vihar to Munger, carrying large number of stolen mobile phones. Acting swiftly on this secret input, the team laid a trap at Anand Vihar Railway Station and apprehended Brindavan and Mukesh from there and recovered 98 mobile phones from their possession, which they were taking to Munger.
 
On verification of the IMEI numbers of the recovered phones with the database of stolen phones, some of these phones were linked with incidents of theft and snatching of different parts of Delhi. The last users of the recovered phones were contacted, who informed that their phones had been stolen. Several complainants also told that after the theft of their phones, money was withdrawn from their accounts through UPI IDs. 
 
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, Brindavan and Mukesh revealed that they used to buy stolen/snatch phones at cheap rates from different thieves and snatchers near DRP Line, Delhi. Then, they would get the lock patterns broken at different shops in Azad Market and Gaffar Market and send the same to Nepal via Munger, where they fetched a good price. They further disclosed that due to the ongoing unrest in Nepal following the recent Gen Z uprising, the situation there had been unstable for the past 10 days. As a result, they had been holding on these phones in Delhi for about a week. However, on 12th Sept., they finally attempted to leave for Munger by train but they were apprehended by the alert police team.
 
Subsequently, on the basis of the disclosure made by Brindavan and Mukesh, a person named Vicky Kumar r/o Sitamarhi, Bihar was apprehended from Azad Market, Delhi who runs a mobile phone repair shop in Azad Market. He used to unlock the stolen mobile phones given by accused Brindavan and Mukesh by using different tools. 38 mobile phones were recovered from his possession which were given to him for unlocking. During interrogation, accused Vicky Kumar disclosed that he could not succeed in unlocking several mobile phones, then he would handover such mobile phones to one Vikas in Gaffar Market for unlocking these mobile phones. At his instance, Vikas was apprehended from Gaffar Market who also runs a mobile repair shop there and used to break the lock patterns of mobile phones. 66 mobile phones were recovered from the possession of Vikas.
 
 During further investigation, another receiver of stolen mobile phones namely Vicky Bind r/o Jhuggi DRP Lines, Delhi was also apprehended from DRP Lines and 22 mobile phones were recovered from his possession. Mobile Phones and WhatsApp Chats of all the accused persons are being analysed and further investigation is being carried out to recover more mobile phones and identification of more receivers. 
 
DETAILS OF ACCUSED PERSONS: 
1. Brindawan, r/o Village Muzaffarganj, PS Haweli Kharagpur, District Munger, Bihar, age 23 years is a school dropout. He used to buy stolen mobile phones from different thieves and snatchers and further transport these mobile phones to Nepal via Munger, Bihar. 
2. Mukesh Kumar, r/o Village Mahakola, PS Haweli Kharagpur, District Munger, Bihar, age 21 years has studied upto 10th standard. He is an associate of accused Brindavan.
3. Vicky Bind, r/o DRP Line, Pul Mithai, Delhi & Village Muzaffarganj, District Munger, Bihar, age 20 years is a school dropout and an associate of accused Mukesh Kumar.
4. Vicky Kumar, r/o Ward No. 21, District Sitamarhi, Bihar, age 25 years has studied upto 12th standard.  He runs a mobile repair shop in Azad Market, Delhi and used to unlock the stolen mobile phones.
5. Vikas Pandey, r/o B-Block, New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, age 24 years is a Graduate. He runs a mobile repair shop at Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh, Delhi and used to unlock the stolen mobile phones.

2. One Laptop recovered from accused Vikas Pandey which was used for unlocking the mobile phones.
