Police arrested two smugglers with smack worth approximately Rs 07 lakh at Niravali interdistrict check post.

Gwalior Pavan Paruthi dated 17.03.2024 – On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamvir Singh, BHP, keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections-2024, effective action is being taken against those involved in buying and selling of illegal liquor and intoxicants in Gwalior district. Today, on 17.03.2024, information was received through an informer that two persons riding a motorcycle were coming from Jhansi with smack. On the above information, Superintendent of Police Gwalior, Additional Superintendent of Police City (North/Crime) Shri Shiaz KM, BHP, directed the joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station Old Cantonment to verify the above information and take action.

In compliance with the above instructions of senior officers, under the able guidance of ASP Crime Mr. Ayush Gupta, BPF and DSP Crime Mr. Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, Crime Branch and Police Station Incharge Crime Branch Gwalior Inspector Ajay Singh Panwar and Police Station Incharge Old Cantonment Vinay Singh Tomar. A joint team of IAS was deployed for action at Niravali interdistrict check post. After some time, the police team saw a Hero company’s extreme motorcycle coming from Jhansi side on which two persons were sitting. Seeing the police checking, they tried to return the motorcycle but the two suspects riding the motorcycle were surrounded and caught by the alert police team. On asking name and address, one told himself to live in Sindhi Colony, Tilak Nagar Police Station Madhoganj and the other told him to live in Sindhi Colony Police Station Madhoganj, District Gwalior. When the police team searched the suspects, illegal drug smack was found in their possession, on weighing, 70 grams of smack was found worth approximately Rs 07 lakh, which was duly confiscated from the smugglers along with the motorcycle. A case under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered against the smugglers caught by the police and they are being interrogated in connection with the smack.

Seized Mashrooka:- A total of 70 grams of smack worth approximately Rs 07 lakh and a motorcycle.

Old Cantonment team- Sub Inspector Santram Rathore, Constable Vikram Tomar, Bhanu Parmar, Ghanshyam Sharma, Ravi Kushwaha, Ram Tomar, Ashok Gurjar, Netram have played a commendable role.
