Artisans and craftsmen working traditionally will get financial assistance under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana

INDORE Geetkar Damodar Virmaal Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana has been started to provide assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen. Under this scheme, a grant of Rs 15,000 will be given for purchasing tool kit. Also, a cheap loan of Rs 1 lakh will be available in the first instance and Rs 2 lakh in the second instance. Initial training will be given for 5 to 7 days and advanced training will be given for 15 days. An allowance of Rs 500 per day will also be given during the training. You will also get a certificate after the training. The process of selection of beneficiaries for training is going on.
This information was given in the review meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Collector Mr. Ashish Singh. In the meeting, Collector Shri Singh instructed all the officers associated with the scheme to implement the scheme effectively. It should be ensured that all eligible beneficiaries get the benefits of the scheme. It was told that so far 6 thousand 192 beneficiaries have been registered under the scheme. Collector Shri Singh gave instructions to increase this number according to the population of the district. The minimum age for the scheme should be 18 years. Should not have taken loan under PMEGP Swanidhi and Mudra Scheme in the last 5 years. Persons working in government service and their family members will not be eligible under this scheme. Only one person from one family will benefit. The scheme covers artisans including carpenters, goldsmiths, doll and toy makers, boat makers, potters, barbers, armorers, sculptors (stone carvers), garland makers (malakar), blacksmiths, cobblers/shoe artisans, washermen, hammersmiths, tool kit makers, masons. , tailors, locksmiths, basket, mat, broom makers, coir weavers and fishing net makers. For the scheme, it is mandatory to have Aadhar card, PAN card, bank account and mobile number linked to Aadhar card. Online application for registration of the scheme can be made on PM Vishwakarma portal.
