Union Minister Shri Scindia is committed to highlight the sports talents of villages and towns

Madhya Pradesh Gwalior Pavan Paruthi District Level MP (Rajya Sabha) Union Minister Shri Scindia inaugurated the sports competition. About 1500 players from all the assembly constituencies of the district participated in the inauguration ceremony. Energy Minister Shri Tomar and other public representatives were also present. The competition will run till 6th February. Players are participating in eight sports disciplines

Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that sports talents should emerge even from remote villages and towns and they should hoist the flag of India on the world stage. District level MP Sports Mahotsav has been organized for this purpose. As per the intention of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, similar competitions are being organized in other districts of the division including Gwalior. He said that the government is committed to promoting sports talent. Union Minister Shri Scindia was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the District Level Parliamentarian (Rajya Sabha) Sports Competition at Phulbagh Ground on Saturday. He said that everyone should come together and organize this competition from next year on the lines of an annual festival, which would last for seven days.

1478 players from all the 6 assembly constituencies of the district participated in the inaugural ceremony of the District Level Parliamentarian Sports Competition. At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, school children gave an exciting display of stick fighting and sword fighting. Little children of Bhuvan School gave a mesmerizing performance of the band.
On this occasion, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, MLA Shri Mohan Singh Rathore, Chairman of Small Industries Development Corporation Smt. Imarti Devi, Chairman of Seed and Form Development Corporation Shri Munnalal Goyal, Sant Kripal Singh, BJP District President Shri Abhay Chaudhary, Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr. Manoj Tomar, former MLAs Mr. Ramesh Agarwal and Mr. Rambaran Singh Gurjar, Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Praveen Agarwal and Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation Council Mr. Haripal and other public representatives were present on the stage. Along with this, Collector Mr. Akshay Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajesh Chandel, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Harsh Singh, Additional Collector Mr. T.N. Singh and District Sports Officer Mr. Joseph Baksala and other public representatives and officers associated with the organization of the competition were present.

Union Minister Shri Scindia said that sports are being given special promotion in the country in the last 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Thanks to programs like Khelo India started in this direction, the country’s players are hoisting the country’s flag in the Asian Games, Olympics and other world level competitions. In the recently held Asian Games, Indian players have brought glory to the country by winning more than 100 medals.
Shri Scindia said that it is a matter of happiness that players from all the 6 assembly constituencies of the district have come to showcase their talent in the district level MP sports competition. He called for organizing this competition every year at different places, so that a positive environment for sports can be created in the entire district. Programs based on spiritual and art culture should also be organized in the evening of the competition. Shri Scindia said that such events provide protection to native i.e. traditional sports. Besides, sports spirit is developed among the people which is necessary for progress.

Energy Minister Shri Tomar expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Shri Scindia for organizing the District Level Parliamentarian Sports Competition in Gwalior and said that he has given great gifts of development to Gwalior, due to which the picture of Gwalior is changing. In this series, he has organized a district level sports festival to give opportunity to the sports talents of rural areas.

The district level MP sports competition, which started from 3rd February at Phulbagh ground, will continue till 6th February. The competition includes eight sports disciplines – Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Sitauliya, Power Lifting, Long Throw and Shot Put. Union Minister Shri Scindia has given instructions to the organizing committee to include wrestling in the competition.

Honored the players who are making Gwalior famous at the international level

On this occasion, Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia and other guests honored the players who are bringing glory to Gwalior at national and international level. He met international hockey player Ku. Karishma Yadav and international level boxer Mr. Rishabh Sikarwar were honored by presenting them shawl and quince.

Competition started with tug of war

The district level MP sports competition started with the girls’ tug-of-war competition. In the preliminary match of this category, LNIPE team defeated Hockey Academy team.

Union Minister Shri Scindia played sitaulia and came to meet the players

Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia met the players participating in various sports events of the District Level Parliamentarian Sports Competition and encouraged everyone. Also try your hand at the traditional game Sitauliya. He also sat with the people and enjoyed the preliminary matches of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Sitoliya.
