Secretary General Ramsar Convention of Wetlands, Joint Secretary of Government of India and other guests visited Indore’s Ramsar site Yashwant Sagar and tourist destination Gulawat

Indore (Geetkar Damodar Virmaal) 1 February 2024. Commissioner Smt. Harshika Singh said that on the occasion of World Wetland Day on 2nd February, representatives of the world’s Ramsar sites along with Secretary General Ramsar Convention of Wetlands Dr. Musonda Mumba and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India were present in Indore. Indore’s Ramsar site Yashwant Sagar was visited today on 1 February 2024 by Dr. Sujit Kumar Vajpayee and environmental experts from other countries.

On this occasion, Commissioner Mrs. Harshika Singh welcomed Dr. Mumba, Secretary General, Ramsar Convention of Wetlands, and Dr. Sujit Kumar Vajpayee, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, at Yashwant Sagar by wearing Malvi turban as per the tradition of Malwa. And through the presentation of Indore Ramsar site Yashwant Sagar, along with information about Yashwant Sagar, information was given about organic farming, fish farming on Yashwant Sagar and conversation was held with the regional farmers. After this, a group photo was taken with the representatives till Yashwant Sagar.

Commissioner Mrs. Singh told that after visiting the Yashwant Sagar Ramsar site, all the delegates visited the tourist spot of Yashwant Sagar, Gulawat, which is famous for lotus flowers, and went boating in the ocean and an exhibition was organized by the local people. Was also observed. Along with various representatives of the Ramsar site, Secretary General Dr. Mumba, Joint Secretary Dr. Ramsar site Yashwant Sagar and tourist destination Gulavat were highly praised by Vajpayee.
