Gangakhed (Anil Shete) Due to drought this year in Gangakhed taluk, Kharif season was wasted. During Rabi season it became difficult to meet farm expenses. There is a shortage of drinking water in summer. There is a demand to release water in the right canal of Jayakwadi so that water is available for summer tea and animals. Due to the decrease in yield of many crops including Suryaful, Bajri, it has become difficult for the farmers to meet their expenses. The livelihood of the farmers depended on the Rabi season. The rabi crops such as jowar, kardi, harbara, linseed, wheat etc. are in danger due to rain fall in rabi season. Harbara, sorghum, wheat are known as cash crops. At least three cycles of water should be released from the right canal of Jayakwadi in order to provide fodder to the animals and drinking water in summer. This demand is coming forward from the farmers.
