Ajmer, Rajasthan (Rajesh Verma) Nehru Yuva Kendra Ajmer Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, under the National Road Safety Month (15 January to 14 February 2024), all four units of National Service Scheme (Arts, Commerce, Science and Girl Unit), Youth Club members of Nehru Yuva Kendra Ajmer, Regional Transport Office Ajmer, with the help of voluntary organization ‘Sahayata’, an awareness program was organized on the topic of road safety and life saving system. Principal of the college, Prof. was present as the chief guest in the program. Milan Kumar Yadav, while addressing the volunteers, inspired them to help the victims in the road safety campaign. Professor in-charge of the academic branch of the college was present as the special guest in the program.
Anil Kumar Dadhich inspired them by highlighting the important role of volunteers in the society. Inspector Shri Anil Kumar Sharma of Regional Transport Office was present as the keynote speaker in the program. In his address, Shri Anil Kumar Sharma gave information about road accidents through statistics. He stressed on following the law while explaining the precautions to be taken by the driver. He listed 6 major causes of death in road accidents. The main ones include driving at high speed, wrong overtaking, talking on mobile while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and ignoring traffic rules. He also gave information about the documents required while driving. Resource person Mrs. Shweta Brahmavar from the voluntary organization ‘Sahayata’ was present in the second session of the program. In his address, he explained about the precautions to be taken to avoid road accidents and also explained the method of immediate treatment of the injured at the accident site.
In which he explained about various methods of life saving like the method of giving CPR etc. He also gave information about the first aid to be given in case of sudden accidents like cardiac arrest, heart attack, diabetes, brain stroke, paralysis, epilepsy, drowning in water, fire, animal bite etc. In the program he inspired young volunteers to become ‘Good Samaritan’ to help the injured. Also, students were made aware about road safety by screening a short film. Addressing the volunteers, District Youth Officer Shri Jayesh Meena said that participation of youth is very important in making road safety a social movement. Under the programme, prizes were distributed to the winning students of various competitions organized during the National Youth Week. At the end of the program, an awareness rally was taken out in the college campus.
In which selected 25 My Bharat volunteers and other youth volunteers raised slogans for road safety and made everyone aware. The program was conducted by Program Officer Dr. Anup Kumar Atreya. National Service Scheme Program Officer Dr. Manoj Kumar Rawat, Dr. Harbhan Singh, Dr. Devki Meena, Maharana Pratap Yuva Mandal members Lakshya Chauhan, Pukhraj Soni, Keshav, Shivpal, Govind Sharma, Himanshu Aswani and National Youth Volunteer Shubham were present in the program.
