High Court Achieves 89% Resolution Rate in Old Cases

Jhabua (Rahim Sherani) The pending cases in the courts be resolved at a speedy pace. In this direction, the judicial administration keeps taking action by implementing schemes from time to time. The Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Ravi Malimath, while implementing a scheme, gave instructions to the judicial officers across the state to identify 25–25 old cases for every quarter, for a total of 100 cases in the year, and resolve them within the time limit.

The District Court identified 1458 cases and resolved 1292 cases. A total of 14732 civil and criminal cases were registered in the courts of Jhabua district in January 2023. Under this scheme, 1458 cases were identified in compliance with the instructions issued by Chief Justice Ravi Malimath, under the guidance of Justice Anil Verma, Portfolio Judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court Division Bench Indore, and under the constant monitoring of Principal District and Sessions Judge Mrs. Vidhi Saxena. A record was set by the judicial officers posted in the establishment by resolving a total of 1292 cases, achieving the target of 88.61 percent.

It should be noted that during this period, apart from the above-mentioned cases, all types of other cases have also been resolved by the judges. Here, the 100 percent target was fulfilled by Principal District and Sessions Judge Mrs. Vidhi Saxena, Second District Judge Subhash Sunhare, and Behavioral Judge Senior Division Thandla. Sachin. Kumar Jadhav, Second Behavioral Judge, Junior Division, Jhabua; Ms. Sakshi Masih, Third Behavioral Judge, Junior Division, Jhabua; Mrs. Poonam Singh, Behavioral Judge, Junior Division, Petlawad; and Mrs. Ruchi Patria Arora, the resolution of pending old cases was 100 percent; here, more than 95 percent of the target was achieved.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Jhabua Gautam Singh Markam and Behavioral Judge Junior Division Thandla Ms. Pramila Rai resolved the old cases pending at 98 and 96 percent, respectively. 2259 cases settled through the National Lok Adalat in the year 2023: a total of 4 National Lok Adalats in the year 2023. Lok Adalat was organized on 11 February, 13 May, 09 September, and 09 December 2023, respectively, in which a total of 2259 cases were successfully resolved in the District Headquarters and Tehsil Courts and an award amounting to Rs 211336455 was passed.

Judges and advocates worked hard to make this campaign successful. Principal District and Sessions Judge Mrs. Vidhi Saxena posted at District Jhabua Establishment, Judges Vivek Singh Raghuvanshi Special Judge, District Judge Rajendra Kumar Sharma, and Subhash Sunhare, Chief Judicial Magistrate Gautam Singh Markam. There was support from conduct judges Vijaypal Singh Chauhan, Ms. Sakshi Masih, Mrs. Poonam Singh, Balram Meena, and District Judge Manoharlal Patidar posted in Tehsil Petlawad, Judicial Magistrate Mr. Chirag Arora and Mrs. Ruchi Pateria, and conduct judge Sachin Kumar Jadhav posted in Thandla Court, Ms. Pramila Rai. . Advocates of District Court Jhabua, Tehsil Court Petlawad, and Thandla also cooperated in resolving cases.
