On Wednesday evening, three masked men entered the house of a jeweler in the posh area of the capital, E-4 Aera Colony, on the pretext of picking up a painting machine. After this, they took away the jewelry and cash by holding a knife to the jeweler’s wife’s neck. When the jeweler’s wife said that she did not have the key to the cupboard, the miscreants broke the lock. The miscreants had done racket earlier. They carried out the robbery in a total of 10 minutes.
Here, after hearing the screams of the woman, the people present nearby caught a miscreant and handed him over to the police. He runs a paan kiosk on the main road. Late last night, the police picked up two more suspects. Bags have been found in them. Two accused were captured in CCTV footage in front of jewelers’ bungalows in Arera Colony.
Sushil Dhanwani, a resident of E-4/237 Arera Colony, is a jeweler. They have a showroom in TT Nagar. His wife Kirti (53) was alone at home at around 7 p.m. Meanwhile, two masked men opened the door in the name of lifting the paint machine. Jeweler’s elder son, Goldie, told her that renovations are going on in the house. When the miscreant asked to take the machine, the mother opened the gate. As soon as Kirti opened the door, the third person also came inside. as soon as the door opens.
The miscreants held a knife to Kirti’s throat. He dragged them into the room. After this, when the scoundrels were running away, they took away the gold chain and mobile phone from Kirti’s neck along with jewelry and a nose ring, and a guard caught one of the scoundrels from the neighbors. Sushil told the police that he was at the shop with his elder son, Goldie.
