Health-Akola-District-Alert-Mode: All health institutions in Akola district on alert mode; Citizens should not panic, be careful appeal of the district administration

Akola (Zafar Khan) A Corona patient was found positive in an RTPCR test on December 7, 2023, in the Municipal Corporation area of Akola district. On December 24, 2023, sequencing testing found his genome to be affected by a new subtype of coronavirus, JN1, and the patient is doing well and has recovered. Although the new subtype JN1 of Corona is not dangerous, citizens should be careful. Citizens should follow COVID-appropriate behavior without panic.

Collector, Akola Chief Executive Officer, G.P. Akola, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Akola, all the health institutions of the district are on alert and are working in alert mode. A total of 1176 COVID tests, including 27 RTPCR tests and 1149 rapid tests, were conducted in the district from December 27, 2023, to December 31, 2023.

Only three patients have been affected by this in the district. There are three active patients in the district, and one patient (a 40-year-old woman) was found infected in Amravati district and is from the Akola Municipal Corporation area. The remaining two patients (both 28-year-old and 42-year-old men) are from Panchgawan. Telhara resident Mohd. All three patients are in home isolation as they have mild symptoms. Health systems are controlling them.

Respiratory diseases are being given priority in the district, with at-risk individuals being screened by medical officials. Also, under the guidance of the District Health Officer, a total of 614 rapid tests were conducted in all the primary health centers from December 27–31, 2023, and two patients were found affected. Under the guidance of the District Surgeon, 535 rapid tests were conducted in all rural hospitals and sub-district hospitals, including the District Women’s Hospital, and not a single patient was found affected.

A total of 27 RTPCR tests were conducted in the municipal corporation area and Government Medical College, Akola, and one patient (aged 38, female) was found affected. As the year of victory is about to arrive, citizens gather in large numbers to welcome it. It is important to follow the rules and be careful in crowded places. People at risk should not visit such crowded places. Also, in cases of symptoms like a cold, fever,cough,or body ache, it is requested to immediately get tested at the nearest health institution through the district administration.
