Delhi News , July 12: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday
urged the Centre to intervene to ensure that Yamuna water levels which has
reached 207.55 m, marking the highest-ever level recorded in the national
capital do not rise further. Kejriwal, on Twitter, said, “Central Water
Commission predicts 207.72 meter water level in Yamuna tonite.

for Delhi. There have been no rains in Delhi last 2 days, however, levels of
Yamuna are rising due to abnormally high volumes of water being released by
Haryana at Hathnikund barrage. Urge Centre to intervene and ensure that levels
in Yamuna don’t rise further.” Meanwhile, a single-judge bench
comprising Justice Anish Dayal of Delhi High Court has granted bail to former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain, in five
cases related to the Northeast delhi riot  Hussain was booked for rioting, mischief by
fire and criminal conspiracy. The bail has been granted subject to certain
conditions, the HC said. In other news, delhi Lieutenant Governor V
K Saxena and the AAP government in Delhi came to verbal blows over the issue of
waterlogging due to incessant rainfall which has continued to lash the capital
since the weekend.  Taking stock of the situation around river banks on
Tueasday, he said,  “The people of, delhi  are fed 
up with
waterlogging; it has become a yearly ritual. The cleaning of sewers is not
done, the harvesting of rainwater is not being done properly. This waterlogging
is a result of the required work not having been done over several years.”
