In Bikaner one bigha of agricultural land sank, a pit about forty feet deep was formed.

Rajesh Kumar Verma | Jaipur | On Tuesday morning suddenly the ground caved in a field in Lunkaransar, Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Administrative officials have also reached the spot to see the sunken land of about thirty to forty feet. The reason as to why the land suddenly caved in is not yet clear. Scientists have also been called to the spot.

When the farmer reached a field near Sahajrasar village of Lunkaransar in the morning he saw that about one bigha of land had sunk. The land was rough and at some places small mounds broke in the middle and sank to the bottom. It is clearly visible that the ground has gone down from here. Due to presence of sand, erosion is also clearly visible. The land has sunken on the Dhani Bhopalram road from Sahajrasar village of Lunkaransar. It is believed that this incident happened late on Monday night. How more than one bigha of land sank is a matter of discussion. Along with administrative officials, members of Tiger Force are also on the spot. The extent to which the land has sunk is being investigated. At the spot it appears to be about thirty to forty feet deep. Where the ground has sunk, a part of the road has also sunk. A large number of trees have also been buried in the ground. Even the roots of many trees have come out.
