CJP's Saurav Das has Nepal lineage, scrap Aadhaar & passport: PIL in Madras HC
CHENNAI: Madras high court has sought response from the Union govt, X and Instagram on a public interest writ petition seeking direction to the Union home ministry to conduct a detailed probe into the background of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das and his family, cancel Saurav‘s passport and Aadhaar card.It also wanted the court to direct the Union ministry of electronics and telecommunication to block his social media handles and prevent him from making any derogatory statements against the judiciary and judges of Supreme Court. The PIL, filed by a Kancheepuram-based businessman R Ganesh Kumar, alleged that a probe must be conducted into how Abhijith Dipke, Saurav Das, Neha Bora and others came together, considering that one person claims to be a freelance legal journalist, one is a college student union Communist Party office-bearer and the other is a US returnee.Admitting the plea on Friday, the first bench of Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan directed the Union ministries, X Corp, Meta Platforms Inc, Saurav and his family members to respond to the plea in six weeks.“Saurav Das’s lineage goes back to Nepal.
This has to be probed. If found true, he cannot lecture about govt and our judiciary,” the petitioner said. He further alleged that the manner in which Das had defamed the judiciary, especially the Chief Justice of India, was highly condemnable and for this reason alone, contempt proceedings should be initiated against him.He said that Saurav Das used his social media handles only to create chaos, anarchy, dis-enchantment and hatred against the ruling establishment.
All his actions are for extraneous reasons, he alleged. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Chennai | Silver Rate in Chennai | Bank Holidays in Chennai | Public Holidays in Chennai | Chennai AQI | Weather in Chennai | Petrol Price in Chennai | Diesel Price in Chennai | CNG Price in Chennai | LPG Price in ChennaiStay updated with the latest Chennai news.
