Woman found dead in Lucknow; note with 4 men’s names, 4-digit number found in bag
LUCKNOW: A 25-year-old woman from Unnao was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Kisan Path underpass in Lucknow's Dubagga area, prompting police to launch a murder investigation after a handwritten note containing the names of four men and a four-digit number was recovered from her bag.Police said injury marks were visible on her face and preliminary observations suggested she may have been strangled before her body was dumped along a service lane near Kisan Path. The exact cause of death, however, will be determined after the post-mortem examination. The victim, identified as Asiya alias Tina, a resident of Safipur in Unnao, was found lying near the Saidpur village underpass on Saturday night.A passerby alerted police around 9.30 pm, following which officers reached the spot and began an investigation.A bag recovered near the body helped establish her identity through her Aadhaar and PAN cards.
During the search, investigators also found a slip of paper carrying the names of four young men and a four-digit number.Police have not disclosed the names and are examining whether the note has any connection with the murder. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that the number may be linked to a vehicle or another lead, though nothing has been confirmed so far.An FIR was registered at Dubagga police station on Sunday on the complaint of the victim's elder sister, Nasreen Bano, under BNS sections related to murder and destruction of evidence.
In her complaint, Nasreen alleged that an unidentified person killed her sister and dumped the body to conceal the crime.According to the family, Asiya had been staying with Nasreen in Nawabganj, Unnao, for about a month. On Oct 24, she left around 12.30 pm, telling family members that she was heading to Safipur. When she failed to reach her destination, relatives began searching for her.
Hours later, they were informed that her body had been found in Lucknow.Police are now trying to reconstruct her movements between the time she left her sister's home and the discovery of her body. Officers are scrutinising CCTV footage, examining people she was in contact with, and investigating the handwritten note recovered from her belongings.Assistant commissioner of police Shakeel Ahmad said the woman was wearing a burqa when her body was found and that the body appeared to be five to six hours old during the preliminary examination.Family members said Asiya, also known as Nargis and Tina, had faced a troubled personal life and had been married twice.
However, police said no link between her personal circumstances and the murder has been established so far.You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Lucknow | Silver Rate in Lucknow | Bank Holidays in Lucknow | Public Holidays in Lucknow | Lucknow AQI | Weather in Lucknow | Petrol Price in Lucknow | Diesel Price in Lucknow | CNG Price in Lucknow | LPG Price in LucknowStay updated with the latest Lucknow news.
