The Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, it said, are integral and inalienable parts of India, and “politically motivated propaganda” cannot alter that reality. The Ministry pointed out that since the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir had seen significant economic growth, with infrastructure development, tourism and connectivity benefiting its people directly.
It contrasted this with Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), where it said Pakistan had unleashed violence, repression and brutality on civilian protesters, killing scores, including women and children. “No amount of media blackout” could hide these violations, it added. The only outstanding issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, the MEA said, were Pakistan vacating areas under its “illegal and forcible occupation” and ceasing its support for cross-border terrorism.

The MEA said the OIC’s repeated endorsement of propaganda peddled by Pakistan raised “serious questions about its credibility and integrity”, and expressed the hope that its members would “do better and reform this organisation”.
