KAMAREDDY: A woman and her two lovers allegedly murdered her husband and dumped his body in a lake to make the death appear accidental. Banswada police solved the case and arrested all three accused.According to news agency ANI, the victim was identified as Chakali, alias Gummadi Kashiram, 26, a daily-wage labourer from Hanmajipet village in Banswada mandal.Police said Kashiram was found dead on the night of October 23, 2026, at Pachera Cheruvu pond on the outskirts of Hanmajipet.

Based on a complaint filed by his father, Chakali Bhumayya, Banswada police initially registered a case of suspicious death. However, during the investigation, the preliminary post-mortem report indicated that Kashiram had been murdered. Police subsequently reclassified the case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police intensified the investigation, examined the scene of the offence, recorded witness statements and relied on technical evidence. On October 30, acting on credible information, police apprehended three persons from Hanmajipet village.

The accused were identified as Chintakindi Ramu (26), a daily-wage labourer; Pasupula Santhosh (25), a tractor driver; both residents of Hanmajipet; and Gummadi Savitha (25), wife of the deceased.During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime.Police said Savitha was allegedly involved in relationships with Ramu and Santhosh and conspired with them to murder her husband. As part of the plan, the three took Kashiram out on the night of October 23 on the pretext of drinking alcohol.

Once he was heavily intoxicated, Ramu allegedly strangled him with a nylon rope while Santhosh restrained his hands to prevent him from escaping.Later, they dumped the body in Panchera Cheruvu and tried to destroy the evidence. The police have seized mobile phones and other material used in the crime.Police registered a case under Sections 103 and 238, read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
