The deceased was identified as Vineeth, a resident of Hayathnagar. The accident occurred around 4 a.m. near Metro Pillar Nos. 813 and 814 on the Uppal-Nagole route. The car reportedly rammed into the iron fencing protecting the air-release valve of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Scheme Phase-2 pipeline, damaging both the protective structure and the valve. The impact caused water to erupt with considerable force, reportedly rising above the elevated metro track.

Thousands of litres of drinking water gushed out of the damaged pipeline, inundating surrounding roads and causing severe traffic congestion along the Uppal-Nagole stretch. Videos shot by commuters flooded social media platforms, demanding faster fixes in times of water scarcity across the city due to El Nino. According to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), the damaged valve was located approximately 20 feet from the main road near Uppal Bagayath.
