Traders would increase their sales by providing concessions to the public, but this government was functioning like a “corporate villain” in feature films. AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran asked whether the price increase was an outcome of the visit of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to a dairy plant recently. Expressing shock over the decision of the authorities, he said this would place an additional economic burden on people who were already finding it difficult to meet their day-to-day needs amid inflation.
The two leaders called upon the government to roll back the price hike.
