6 ops in 48 hrs: Houthis claim to strike Saudi airports, oil field & military sites

Yemen’s Iran-linked Houthi rebels on Monday claimed six “qualitative military operations” on Saudi Arabia in the past 48 hours, reportedly targeting Aramco facilities in Yanbu, the Shaybah oil field, King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, Abha International Airport, and several military sites.Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operations were launched in response to what he called “treacherous Saudi aggression” against Yemen and its people.“The Yemeni Armed Forces have, over the past 48 hours, carried out six qualitative military operations using a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones,” Yahya said in a post on X.According to Saree, Saudi forces launched more than 200 airstrikes and missiles in the past 48 hours targeting civilian facilities in the capital, Sana’a, and in what the Houthis term the “free governorates”.He claimed this resulted in dozens of dead and wounded, most of them women and children.

Saree said the total number of Saudi airstrikes and missiles since the escalation began now stands at more than 2,700.Elaborating on the strike targets, the Houthis claimed they used a large number of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. The first operation reportedly targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu in two phases. Saree claimed the strike was “precise”, causing major fires at the targeted sites. The second operation reportedly targeted the Shaybah oil field, with Saree saying the strike was direct and led to fires at the targeted sites. The third operation reportedly targeted King Khalid Airport in Riyadh in three phases.

Saree said the strikes were “precise and direct”.The fourth operation reportedly targeted Abha International Airport, Saudi radars in the Al-Hisn and Al-Rahma mountains, and Khamis Mushait Air Base, again in three phases. Saree claimed the strikes were direct and resulted in the disruption of air traffic at the airport and damage to the air base. The fifth operation reportedly targeted the camp of the Saudi Navy’s Task Force.

Saree said the strike was precise and left dead and wounded among Saudi forces. The sixth reportedly targeted a radar at Bir Askar, which Saree claimed was destroyed in a direct strike. However, the Houthi claims remain to be verified. In a previous post the rebel group warned Yemenis against joining coalition forces, accusing Saudi Arabia of using financial incentives to recruit them and expose them to danger in place of Saudi soldiers.“We warn the deceived ones against responding to the Saudi enemy's calls to lure them with his defiled money to the pyres of death, and to exploit them instead of his soldiers who are indifferent to their lives,” Saree said. You use AI every day.
