BHOPAL: Two sisters, one of whom was eight months pregnant, allegedly jumped into wells with their four children in two separate incidents in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district on Wednesday, leaving all six dead.Anjali Rawat, 35, allegedly jumped into a well with her six-year-old son, Prashant, in Gungargaon village, under Bairad police station limits, around 1pm. Hours later, her elder sister, Sita Rawat, 40, was found dead with her three children — Rakhi, 14, Priyanka, 11, and Shlok, 6 — in a well in Khonkar village, under Kolaras police station limits.Police are investigating the two incidents separately and are yet to establish the reasons behind the deaths.Anjali’s three daughters were also present when she allegedly jumped into the well with her son.

Her eldest daughter, Monika, rescued herself and her two younger sisters before returning home and informing family members. Relatives rushed to the spot and pulled Anjali and Prashant out of the well, but both had died. Anjali’s unborn child also died.According to family members, Anjali’s husband, Dharmveer Singh Rawat, died in a road accident around one-and-a-half months ago.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.Sita, a resident of Sesai village, had gone to a field in Khonkar village with her three children. When they had not returned home by around 6pm, relatives began searching for them. They found slippers near a well and spotted a child’s body inside, following which they alerted the police. Kolaras police retrieved the bodies of Sita and her three children by around 11pm.Family members said the sisters were close and frequently spoke to each other over the phone.

They suspect Sita may have been affected by Anjali’s death earlier that day, but police have not established any link between the two incidents.Postmortem examinations of all six deceased were scheduled for Thursday. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding both incidents. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Bhopal | Silver Rate in Bhopal | Bank Holidays in Bhopal | Public Holidays in Bhopal | Petrol Price in Bhopal | Diesel Price in Bhopal | CNG Price in Bhopal | LPG Price in BhopalStay updated with the latest Bhopal news.
