Cancer screening camp organized on World Women’s Day

Lakhisarai, Atmanand Singh On the occasion of World Women’s Day, a cancer screening camp was organized under the chairmanship of dentist Dr. RK Upadhyay at the Health and Wellness Center located in Singhol Tetaria village of Chanan block area on Saturday. In which women of all age groups in rural areas were made aware about incurable diseases like cancer along with screening of oral, breast and uterine cancer. Oncologist doctors Dr. Ashish Kumar and Dr. Ashwani Kumari, posted in the Cancer Scanning OPD operated in Sadar Hospital, explained to the women in detail about the complete treatment of the disease if the initial symptoms of incurable disease like cancer are detected and examined. He said that the government, in collaboration with Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, Mumbai, is regularly conducting cancer screening tests for suspected patients at Sadar Hospital. In which biopsy meat examination of the patient found suspicious is also done. After cancer is confirmed in the biopsy test, free treatment facilities are provided to the concerned patient from Muzaffarpur to Mumbai. To avoid incurable diseases like cancer, he made the women of rural areas especially aware about cleanliness and avoiding consumption of any kind of tobacco. Dentist Dr RK Upadhyay said that consumption of Khaini, Gutka, Pan Masala and other tobacco increases the chances of oral cancer. He also advised women to avoid using Gul and Gudakhu for washing their mouth. During this time, along with women, a large number of men also took advantage of the free check-up camp. Staff nurse Upanishad Kumari and assistant Rajeev Kumar were present on the spot.
